What springs to mind when people mention the 31st of October? For most of you I’m guessing it’s perhaps the orange of a pumpkin, vampire teeth or a favourite ghoulish costume, not necessarily pink cakes, clothes and some charity fun.
Over the last few weeks we have all taken some time out of our rotations to plan a charity day at the office for Wear It Pink – a Breast Cancer Campaign to raise money for the charity. Of course the theme is obvious: to get as many people in the office wearing pink as possible and donating funds in the process.
This was a great opportunity for us all to put our heads together and work on something other than the client work in our respective departments.
At Edelman we decided to add a bit of a competitive edge and challenged the office to see who could find the most unusual pink item, who could wear the most pink to be labelled ‘pinkest person’ and which team could be the most involved as ‘the pinkest department’. All for pink prizes of course! There was also a raffle for the chance to win a bottle of pink champagne.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone at Edelman we managed to collect around £300 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, smashing last year’s grand total.
We are also happy to congratulate the winners in each category:
Healthcare for ‘Pinkest Department’
Anthea Morris as ‘Pinkest Person’
Milly Hill for sporting the ‘Most Unusual Pink Item’
And Rose Kyle for winning the pink champagne raffle prize.
