During the first rotation the Grads were also very kindly invited to help out with the Edelman Technology launch of dotMobi, a new mobile phone internet domain name. The event was held in the stylish Century Club, which as it happens turned out to be very stylish indeed; another event taking place in the building on the same evening was Tara Ramsey’s book launch. So as you can imagine we all paid a visit to the roof terrace to mingle with the various celebrities including Gordon himself and Jeremy Clarkson. There were even paparazzi outside waiting for the possible arrival of Posh and Becks; however the delightful couple decided not to grace us with their presence. The dotMobi event was to mark the availability of dotMobi domain names for widespread purchase, it was attended by representatives form mobile phone companies and an array of international journalists. Our job was to meet and greet, deal with general administration, provide journalists with information they required and generally make sure the event ran smoothly. The evening was awesome fun and certainly gave me a good insight into what goes into the organization of such a launch. Once we were “off duty”, we all enjoyed a couple of glasses of champagne and a dance along with a few straggling journalists into the early hours!
