Before anyone gets up in arms (where the hell does that phrase even come from!? Supposedly; from the middle English ‘armes’ but that really explains nothing!), the title of this weeks’ blog is not an exposé of my narrow minded cynicism but a reference to Brass Eye; a quality piece of satirical programming from Channel 4 starring Chris Morris, sadly absent from our screens these days. To wit – this week I have been mostly working on behalf of the National Aids Trust in securing coverage for their campaign for World Aids Day on December 1st.
It’s been a really enjoyable week in Edelman Interactive Solutions (EIS), whether that has been because I’ve been working on something ‘worthy’ and it gives me a sense of purpose and wellbeing; I’m not too sure but either way – it’s going well. I’ve been contacting various websites, bloggers, local councils and companies to try and convince them to wear a Virtual Red Ribbon (VRR) on their website to promote awareness both of World Aids Day and also, of the crippling disease itself. For those that don’t know much about HIV/AIDS, look here for further info and spread the word to your friends about the VRR!!!
All joking aside this week has been enjoyable and varied and I’ve had quite a bit of independence to put together work and research potential opportunities.
It is only Wednesday when I write this so all could change by the end of the week, if so, this’ll get updated and the sentence you’re reading now won’t be here anymore!

You must be far too youg to remember Brass Eye or perhaps you’ve had too much CAKE.
Great work on the AIDS trust btw.

Tatty – Thanks for this. I was born in 1985 so I am not quite long enough in the tooth to remember it the first time round, but “thankfully”, the awful state of TV programming these days means i have seen the repeats and episodes on VHS and Channel 4!
Fortunately i’ve kept my CAKE intake to a minimum so there’s no danger of me developing Czech neck!
Thanks for the kind comments about the AIDS trust – tell your friends since the NAT need all the support they can get!
Tom
